William Devir \u201973 led a group of federal disaster responders as part of a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services effort that treated nearly 30,000 patients in the first month.<\/p>\n<p>As vice president of overseas operations for Catholic Relief Services (<span class=\"caps\">CRS<\/span>), Annemarie Reilly \u201988 coordinated the $95 million outreach of the U.S. Catholic Church as underwritten by the donations and volunteer hours flooding in from thousands of parishes \u2014 and many ND alumni clubs \u2014 around the country.<\/p>\n<ul id=\"callout\">\n<li>Related article<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/magazine.nd.edu\/news\/14954-a-unique-position-to-help\">A unique position to help<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reilly says <span class=\"caps\">CRS<\/span>, which has served more than 50 years in Haiti, views the recovery as a 5-to-10-year project. <span class=\"caps\">CRS<\/span> encourages all people to help Haiti through prayer, education and action. As the international aid arm of the U.S. bishops, <span class=\"caps\">CRS<\/span> is developing policy positions regarding federal aid, refugees and related concerns.<\/p>\n<p>The University is working to strengthen the Notre Dame Haiti Program\u2019s determined fight against lymphatic filariasis (LF) and to rebuild Holy Cross ministries damaged by the quake. \u201cWhat can people do?\u201d asks Haiti Program director Father Tom Streit, <span class=\"caps\">CSC<\/span>. \u201cWell, I would say, what are your skills? What is your passion?
