The year-to-date number of killings as of Sunday was 170, compared with 196 for the same period in 2009 and 245 in 2008.\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/.a\/6a00d8341c630a53ef0133ec7c0c78970b-pi\" style=\"float: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Homicide_chart\" border=\"0\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341c630a53ef0133ec7c0c78970b \" src=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/.a\/6a00d8341c630a53ef0133ec7c0c78970b-800wi\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px; width: 300px; height: 246px;\" title=\"Homicide_chart\"><\/img><\/a> Among those killed last week was <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.latimes.com\/homicide-report\/post\/jose-castillo\/\">Jose Castillo<\/a>, 20. Castillo was shot several times and stabbed in the face in the 2600 block of Sichel Street in <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.latimes.com\/homicide\/neighborhood\/lincoln-heights\/\">Lincoln Heights<\/a>, according to Los Angeles County coroner&#8217;s records. He was pronounced dead at 9:03 p.m. on March 29.\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/projects.latimes.com\/homicide-report\/post\/emanual-dorsey\/\">Emanual Dorsey<\/a>, 30, was shot twice in the head, three times in the torso and twice in the left arm, according to coroner&#8217;s records. Dorsey was shot in the 1400 block of West 83rd Street in <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.latimes.com\/homicide\/neighborhood\/manchester-square\/\">Manchester Square<\/a> and died at 5:05 p.m. March 29.\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/projects.latimes.com\/homicide-report\/post\/jose-hernandez-2\/\">Jose Hernandez<\/a>, 24, was shot in the chest in the 200 block of Rampart Boulevard in <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.latimes.com\/homicide\/neighborhood\/westlake\/\">Westlake<\/a>, according to coroner&#8217;s records.
