Glee<\/em> cutie Lea Michele is using her impressive pipes to spread the word about animal cruelty in the fur industry. Lea’s partnered with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to urge fans to boycott furry products, with the help of the tagline: “If You Wouldn’t Wear Your Dog, Please Don’t Wear Any Fur.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Lea is the star of a new PETA public service announcement in which the Broadway darling calls on all Gleeks to “do some spring cleaning and rid their closets of fur,” <\/em> the animal rights group remarks in an impassioned press release. <\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

“Everyone wants to fit in and feel like they belong,”<\/em> Michele says in the PSA, which also features a rescused “Dis Dat Dog” (AKA — “Mutt”) named Sailor. “But sometimes you have to take a stand and step away from the crowd. \u2026 With so many fashionable, cruelty-free options available, there’s really no excuse for joining a club that wears someone else’s coat.”<\/em><\/p>\n

This is the second time Lea has joined forces with PETA to help animals. Michele first worked with the group during her tenure with Broadway’s Spring Awakening<\/em>, when she starred in a campaign to put an end to New York’s carriage industry.<\/p>\n
