Memorial Stadium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Do we really need another downtown parking garage?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Editor, The Times:<\/p>\n<p>How dare you, Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>More than 60 years past a remarkable generation of Americans, our friends, fathers, mothers, grandparents and our youth, joined forces during World War II. Now 62 years later, our city of Seattle is planning to desecrate a war memorial dedicated to our youth, who gave their all fighting for our freedoms [\u201cThe end of Memorial Stadium?,\u201d page one, Nov. 25].<\/p>\n<p>Some of those youth never returned, and their resting place is Memorial Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>How dare you, Seattle?<\/p>\n<p>Seattle\u2019s Memorial Stadium was dedicated Thanksgiving Day 1947 to honor this remarkable generation. How soon we forget the sacrifices our youth made going into war directly out of Seattle schools.<\/p>\n<p>Shame on you, Seattle to even think about desecrating a war memorial honoring those youth and our future youth. Do we really need another parking garage in lieu of a war memorial?
