line-height: 18px; font-size: 16px;\">Conducts value-added applied research;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; font-size: 16px;\">Performs industry-directed and industry-oriented problem solving; and,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; font-size: 16px;\">Develops technologies that can be commercialized in partnership with a for-profit company.<span id=\"more-14777\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 6pt 0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&quot;;\">RDCAP proposals may address any of the following opportunity areas or combinations thereof:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; font-size: 16px;\">Advanced Energy (with an emphasis on fuel cells, photovoltaics, wind, biomass, and storage)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; font-size: 16px;\">Advanced Materials (with an emphasis on advanced polymers, carbon nanocomposites, and bioproducts)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; font-size: 16px;\">Advanced Propulsion (aerospace)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; font-size: 16px;\">Biomedical (with an emphasis on biomedical imaging, cardiovascular, regenerative medicine and orthopedics)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px; font-size: 16px;\">Instruments, Controls, Electronics (with an emphasis on sensors)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 6pt 0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;
