The stock closed Wednesday up 77 cents to close at $4.62.<\/p>\n<p>\nWhile Palm&#8217;s stock is no stranger to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mergers_and_acquisitions\">M&#038;A<\/a> rumors and insider trading moves, this latest bit of wall street speculation was kicked into high gear by a mention by CNBC anchor Jon &#8220;option monster&#8221; Najarian. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/id\/36220964?__source=yahoo%7cheadline%7cquote%7ctext%7c&#038;par=yahoo\">He remarked<\/a> that the play would be a &#8220;very nice cheap shot for Lenovo&#8221; and in the same sentence mentions U2&#8217;s Bono should just do the deal himself.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nOn the serious side, Lenovo made no official comment, however <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/palm-shares-up-on-takeover-speculation-2010-04-07?siteid=yhoof\">this MarketWatch article<\/a> mentions that the Lenovo CEO has mentioned in recent interviews that the company is looking into making more acquisitions to build out their mobile Internet business.\n<\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"both\" style=\"clear: both;\"\/><br \/>\n<br clear=\"both\" style=\"clear: both;\"\/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ads.pheedo.com\/click.phdo?s=e40363741d8a4c605f8d436f8d4f5983&#038;p=1\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" style=\"border: 0;\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/ads.pheedo.com\/img.phdo?s=e40363741d8a4c605f8d436f8d4f5983&#038;p=1\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n<!-- foo --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shares of Palm Inc. stock gained 20% in trading yesterday on a rumor that China based Lenovo Group was interested in the company.
