\npolice have arrested a 48-year-old sexual assault suspect who attacked a
\n hitchhiker in South Los Angeles.<\/o:p><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

 <\/o:p>\"\"Last Saturday,
\nCharles Reginald Cooks was arrested at his home in the 6600 block of 8th<\/sup>Avenue.  <\/span>He was charged with rape and is being held in lieu of
\n $300,000 bail.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p>On April 3
\nat around 2 a.m., Cooks picked up a female hitchhiker near Western
\nAvenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard and drove her to a street near
\nKoreatown where he sexually assaulted her inside of his van.  <\/span>Fortunately, the victim was able to escape her
\nassailant and call police.  <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/o:p><\/span><\/em><\/strong>Cooks is described
\nas male black.  <\/span>He has black hair, brown eyes,
\nstands 5 feet 9 inches and weighs 210 pounds.  <\/span>At
\nthe time of the assault, he was driving a dark green 1995 Dodge Caravan
\nminivan with the license plate 3KNJ170.  <\/span>The
\ninterior of the vehicle is gray and it has collision damage to the right
\n front end. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\n sexual assault detail detectives suspect there might be\"\" more victims
\nand are asking them to come forward.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
