Chris Gregoire has helped reduce future crime throughout the state of Washington. [\u201cGregoire signs education package into law,\u201d NWTuesday, March 30.]<\/p>\n<p>We supported these bills because they strengthen one of our most powerful crime-prevention tools: high-quality early learning.<\/p>\n<p>As police chiefs, our job is to keep the public safe and lock up dangerous criminals. But we are never going to arrest ourselves out of the crime problem.
