But local boxing promoter Kahren<br \/>\nHarutyunyan last year successfully lobbied the City Council for a test<br \/>\nrun. His company, Art of Boxing Productions, hosted two events at the<br \/>\nGlendale Civic Auditorium, generating $19,342 for the venue.<br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>Harutyunyan on Wednesday said he was glad he had the chance to demonstrate that boxing could be beneficial to the city.<br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>\u201cI am extremely satisfied, happy and proud with the entire process,\u201d he said.<br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br><\/p>\n<p>\t\t <span>Other<br \/>\npro fighting events, such as mixed-martial arts and kick-boxing, are still banned<br \/>\nunder the revised ordinance, and officials made it clear that they<br \/>\nwould continue to closely monitor planned matches.<br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>Councilman<br \/>\nFrank Quintero said several measures, including physical examinations,<br \/>\nare taken to ensure the boxers are safe during their bouts.<br \/><\/br><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt\u2019s sanctioned,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s licensed and it\u2019s controlled.
