(I posted a bit of background <a href=\"http:\/\/criminaljustice.change.org\/blog\/view\/will_russia_reinstate_the_death_penalty\" >here<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Vietnam&#8217;s\u00a0 legislature is considering adding lethal injection as a method of execution to the current firing squad. (Vietnam <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationmaster.com\/graph\/cri_exe-crime-executions\" >executed 25 people<\/a> in 2007)<\/li>\n<li>Kentucky\u2019s Supreme Court <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/11\/26\/us\/26execute.html\" >suspended executions in the state Wednesday<\/a> in another lethal injection case<\/li>\n<li>Ohio got the ok to begin using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/ap\/article\/ALeqM5ju0_UPvEVxUhVLghH9flkDra4lEAD9C6OOJG0\" >its one-drug injection to kill people<\/a> and a doctor is facing questions over <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/ap\/article\/ALeqM5ju0_UPvEVxUhVLghH9flkDra4lEAD9C67ELO0\" >her role in the failed attempt<\/a> to execute Romell Broom on September 15.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m on the road this weekend, so just a quick post: A few death penalty stories from the week I didn\u2019t get a chance to share: Russia essentially abolished the death penalty last week.
