\nreplacement for one of the millions of trees burned in the Station fire

\u201cI think if [the forest is] all of ours to enjoy, it\u2019s all of ours to take care,\u201d Schiller said.
<\/br><\/span><\/p>\n

Schiller
\nand his wife, Karin, were among the three dozen volunteers who spent
\nSaturday working alongside representatives of the U.S. Forest Service as well as Tree People, a forest conservation group, planting young Coulter
\nand Ponderosa pines.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The event, which took place at Chilao
\nCampground, located half a mile south of Newcomb\u2019s Ranch Restaurant on
\nAngeles Crest Highway, was part of a comprehensive, multiyear
\nreforestation project being spearheaded by the Forest Service, according to the La Ca<\/span>\u00f1<\/span>ada Valley Sun.
<\/br><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nStation fire, which ignited just north of La Ca\u00f1ada on Aug. 26, burned 53 square miles of forest. In some places the heat was so intense that
\nit seared the soil, hampering future natural regeneration. And in the
\nfoothills immediately north of the Crescenta-Ca\u00f1ada area, it created
\nconditions ripe for dangerous debris flows.<\/span><\/p>\n
