{"id":524830,"date":"2010-04-12T12:46:26","date_gmt":"2010-04-12T16:46:26","guid":{"rendered":"tag:typepad.com,2003:post-6a00d8341c630a53ef01347fd2aedb970c"},"modified":"2010-04-12T12:46:27","modified_gmt":"2010-04-12T16:46:27","slug":"ventura-man-arrested-in-stabbing-deaths-of-faria-beach-couple","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/524830","title":{"rendered":"Ventura man arrested in stabbing deaths of Faria Beach couple"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ventura County law enforcement authorities said Monday they have arrested a 21-year-old Ventura man in the stabbing deaths last year of a husband and wife at their Faria Beach home.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua Packer was arrested Sunday evening, detectives said.<\/p>\n<p>The arrest was a breakthrough for a case that languished for nearly a year after Brock Husted and his pregnant wife, Davina, were killed by an intruder wearing a motorcycle helmet who entered their home through an open patio door.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a well-publicized case,&quot; said Capt. Eric Dowd of the Ventura County Sheriff&#8217;s Department. &quot;To make an arrest, I am sure they are pretty pleased with it.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>More details will be released at a 3 p.m. news conference in Ventura, Dowd said.<br \/><\/br><\/p>\n<p>The Husteds, both 42, died of multiple stab wounds. Their two children fled to a neighbor\u2019s house and were unharmed.
