Authorities went out to investigate. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pe.com\/localnews\/inland\/stories\/PE_News_Local_W_wsnake11.3ba1f39.html\">They found a<\/a> 60-pound, 15-foot-long\u00a0python.<\/p>\n<p>Officials believe the owner of the python dumped the animal at the lake. There had been earlier reports of people noticing a large snake in the area.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"vitstorybody\"><span class=\"vitstorybody\">&quot;There were no reports of it feeding off any of the lake&#8217;s fowl,&quot; Animal Services Department spokesman John Welsh told the Riverside Press-Enterprise. &quot;Clearly, Burmese pythons are not native to Lake Evans.&quot; <\/span><\/span><span class=\"vitstorybody\"><span class=\"vitstorybody\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to KTLA News, Burmese pythons, while very large, are\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ktla.com\/news\/local\/ktla-big-riverside-snake,0,7396622.story\">considered docile<\/a> and easy to handle. The python is\u00a0being taken care of by animal-control employees.
