This is the Foundation&#8217;s official bimonthly publication that provides an excellent overview of hard-hitting legal actions being taken by Foundation attorneys every day to combat forced unionism.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u0092s a sample of this month\u0092s cover story about a corrupt Michigan scheme that is part of a nationwide drive to corral hundreds of thousands into forced-dues ranks by political fiat.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Federal Lawsuit Challenges Michigan Scheme to Impose Union on Child-Care Providers<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>LANSING, MI \u0096 In what can only be described as a blatant scheme of union boss political payback, Michigan Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm is colluding with union bosses to force all of the state\u0092s more than 40,000 home-based child-care providers into compulsory unionism. <\/p>\n<p>In a late 2006 act of connivance, Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS) officials \u0096 under the direction of Granholm, who was in a contested reelection bid at the time \u0096 created the \u0093Michigan Home Based Child Care Council\u0094 to act as the so-called \u0093management\u0094 of the home-care providers. <\/p>\n<p>Then, a union front group called \u0093Child Care Providers Together Michigan\u0094 (CCPTM) \u0096 a joint operation run by United Autoworkers (UAW) and American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union officials \u0096 made a concerted effort to foist their union \u0093representation\u0094 on the home-care providers. <\/p>\n<p>Even though only 15 percent of the 40,000 day-care providers \u0093voted\u0094 in the union certification election, the CCPTM union hierarchy was granted monopoly bargaining privileges and political representation over all of Michigan\u0092s home-care providers. The union certification took place after an unusual \u0093mail-in\u0094 vote. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Read the full issue to learn about the courageous child-care providers challenging the scheme.
