As you  contemplate how much you pay the government for the privilege of living in this  wonderful country, you might amuse yourself by repeating the following. (Sorry,  I don\u2019t know who the author is. If you do, please tell me.)<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Tax his land, tax his bed,<br \/>\n    Tax the table at which he\u2019s fed.<br \/>\n    Tax his tractor, tax his mule,<br \/>\n    Teach him taxes are the rule.<\/p>\n<p>Tax his cow, tax his goat,<br \/>\n    Tax his pants, tax his coat.<br \/>\n    Tax his ties, tax his shirt,<br \/>\n    Tax his work, tax his dirt.<\/p>\n<p>Tax his tobacco, tax his drink.<br \/>\n    Tax him if he tries to think.<br \/>\n    Tax his cigars, tax his beers,<br \/>\n    If he cries, then tax his tears.<\/p>\n<p>Tax his car, tax his gas,<br \/>\n    Find other ways to tax his a**.<br \/>\n    Tax all he has, then let him know<br \/>\n    That you won\u2019t be done \u2018till he has no dough.<\/p>\n<p>When he screams and hollers,<br \/>\n    Tax him some more.<br \/>\n    Tax him \u2018till he\u2019s good and sore.<br \/>\n    Then tax his coffin, tax his grave.<br \/>\n    Tax the sod in which he\u2019s laid.<\/p>\n<p>Put these words upon his tomb,<br \/>\n    \u201cTaxes drove me to my doom.\u201d<br \/>\n    When he\u2019s gone, do not relax.<br \/>\n    It\u2019s time to apply the inheritance tax.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>\u2014 Chip Wood<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is Tax Week, as every wage earner in America is all too aware.
