{"id":527262,"date":"2010-04-14T10:48:39","date_gmt":"2010-04-14T14:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greenrightnow.com\/?p=10744"},"modified":"2010-04-14T10:48:39","modified_gmt":"2010-04-14T14:48:39","slug":"aveda-sponsors-walk-for-water-in-houston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/527262","title":{"rendered":"Aveda sponsors Walk for Water in Houston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From Green Right Now Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Houston&#8217;s Aveda network of salons is hosting a Walk for Water in Houston, starting at Terry Hershey Park on Sunday, April 18.\u00a0 The walk is open to the public, and many Aveda stylists, spa therapists and owners will be participating.<\/p>\n<p>The Walk will be 6 km (4 miles) to represent the average distance women in developing nations have to walk every day for access to clean water.<\/p>\n<p>Aveda, which manufactures plant-based hair care, skin and makeup products, runs a global campaign to promote clean water. The Houston walk will benefit the Gulf Restoration Network and Lower Mississippi Riverkeeper organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The walk is one of 82 walks being organize by Aveda institutes, salons and spas to celebrate Earth Month 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Cost of the walk is $50 per entrant.\u00a0 Pets are welcome. Public attendance (non-walkers) is free.
