Here&#8217;s the rundown:<\/p>\n<p>Dow: Up 103 points to 11,122.<\/p>\n<p>NASDAQ: Up 38 points to 2504.<\/p>\n<p>S&amp;P 500: Up 13 points to 1210.<\/p>\n<p>Commodities: Oil is up $1.85 to $85.90 a barrel. Natural gas futures are up 0.9% to 4.1910.<\/p>\n<p>Gold is up $1.50 to $1154.90 an ounce. Silver is up $0.16 to $18.41 an ounce.<\/p>\n<p>Now here are the stories you need to know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tim Geithner is calling the recovery real saying that the U.S. is expanding &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSTRE63D3WS20100414?feedType=RSS&amp;feedName=businessNews&amp;utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+reuters%2FbusinessNews+%28News+%2F+US+%2F+Business+News%29\">faster than expected<\/a>&#8221; and that the U.S. is improving at a greater pace than other developed economies.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Fed has said that the economy expanded &#8220;somewhat&#8221; in March with 11 out of 12 U.S. districts showing expansion, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/apps\/news?pid=20601103&amp;sid=acePiR4.rZKU\">according to Bloomberg<\/a><\/strong>. Only St. Louis showed declining conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ford&#8217;s sales are improving at a better rate than anytime since 1977<\/strong>. The American automobile company&#8217;s sales rose <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.barrons.com\/stockstowatchtoday\/2010\/04\/14\/ford-q1-sales-rise-fastest-since-77\/\">2.7 percentage points<\/a> in the first quarter. The stock is up <a href=\"http:\/\/online.barrons.com\/public\/quotes\/main.html?symbol=F\">4.77%<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The war over financial reform expanded today as Austan Goolsbee, the President&#8217;s economic advisor, went on CNBC to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/austan-goolsbee-derivatives-reform-2010-4\">attack big banks<\/a> for their lobbying push on the Republican Party<\/strong>. President Obama also called for more <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/report-on-business\/economy\/obama-urges-leash-on-derivatives\/article1534385\/\">agressive regulation<\/a> of derivatives today, and Sen. Dodd is pushing Republicans to stop their lobbying campaign or face being <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0410\/35800.html\">kicked out of reform negotiations<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Apple is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/apple-pushes-back-the-international-launch-of-the-ipad-by-a-month-2010-4\">delaying<\/a> the launch of its iPad outside of the U.S. due to unprecedented demand in the American market<\/strong>.
