The day after the House voted to pass Obamacare, the New York Times declared \u0093<ahref="http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/03\/22\/opinion\/22mon5.html?pagewanted=all">a triumph.\u0094 A few days later, President Obama told Iowa liberals that Obamacare is a \u0093<ahref="http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the-press-office\/remarks-president-health-insurance-reform-university-iowa-field-house-iowa-city-iow">victory\u0094 and said the left has prevailed \u0093after a century of trying.\u0094<\/p>\n

But how can a policy that buries the nation further into debt, strengthens the federal government, and undermines the very essence of our national character be labeled anything other than a dismal failure? It cannot. Obamacare fails the American people.<\/p>\n

And it won\u0092t end with health care. The left will use their so-called \u0093victory\u0094 as an engine to plow through their progressive agenda. Their \u0093victory\u0094 lap will likely include costly cap and tax energy programs, amnesty for illegal immigrants, and other big government proposals that all spell out one thing for each American — more money out of your pocket.<\/p>\n

Here at The Heritage Foundation, we believe this is wrong. And we\u0092re doing something about it.<\/p>\n
