Rod Blagojevich &quot;repeatedly expressed an<br \/>\ninterest in personally profiting&quot; from naming a successor to the U.S.<br \/>\nSenate seat vacated by Barack Obama on his election as president in the<br \/>\nfall of 2008. <br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>&quot;Despite repeated warnings from others that he<br \/>\ncould not personally profit in any way, Blagojevich continued to suggest<br \/>\n methods in which he could personally profit from the naming of a<br \/>\nsenator,&quot; prosecutors wrote.<br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>The document alleged that the former<br \/>\n governor told a high-ranking aide, &quot;Now is the time for me to put my<br \/>\n(expletive) children and wife first, for a change.&quot;<br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>In one<br \/>\nconversation with John Harris, his then-chief of staff, Blagojevich<br \/>\nallegedly discussed going to work in Washington if he appointed Obama&#8217;s<br \/>\npreference for the Senate seat.<br \/><\/br><br \/><\/br>&quot;I&#8217;d like to get out, get the<br \/>\n(expletive) outta here,&quot; he said. &quot;The objective is to, to get a good<br \/>\ngig over there.&quot;<br \/><\/br>\n                  <\/div>\n<p>\n                    The new details are contained in<br \/>\n an evidentiary proffer ordered unsealed by<br \/>\na federal judge today.
