href=\"http:\/\/enviroknow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/tp.pdf\">CBS\/NYT poll of tea party supporters<\/a> [PDF, H\/T <a href=\"http:\/\/theplumline.whorunsgov.com\/economy\/the-morning-plum-112\/\">Greg Sargent<\/a>] includes a question on climate change:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Do you think global warming is an environmental problem that is causing a serious impact now, or do you think the impact of global warming won&#8217;t happen until sometime in the future, or do you think global warming won&#8217;t have a serious impact at all?<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This shouldn&#8217;t come as a surprise, but it turns out that tea party supporters are far less informed about climate change than the general public:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4017\/4523469678_b5dce8c874_o.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This meshes with a <a href=\"http:\/\/enviroknow.com\/2010\/04\/07\/energy-environment-partisan-divide\/\">spate of<\/a> other <a href=\"http:\/\/enviroknow.com\/2010\/04\/08\/yet-more-evidence-that-republicans-really-dont-give-a-damn-about-the-environment\/\">recent polls<\/a> showing a sharp decline in understanding of and concern for environmental issues among Republicans.<br \/>\nIn contrast, other recent polls have shown that <a href=\"http:\/\/enviroknow.com\/2010\/04\/14\/latino-voters-in-key-swing-states-strongly-favor-clean-energy-legislation\/\">Latinos<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/enviroknow.com\/2010\/04\/08\/vote-vets-clean-energy-poll\/\">veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/enviroknow.com\/2010\/04\/08\/who-approves-offshore-drilling\/\">young Americans<\/a> are much more concerned about climate change and environmental issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related
