The vehicle will handle like an off-road-capable SUV on the ground and can cruise like a single-engine aircraft at an altitude of up to 10,000 feet.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The vehicle is being anticipated to cover a distance of 250 miles before needing a refill. DARPA suggest incorporating technologies such as a hybrid electric drive, adaptive wing structures or ducted-tilt rotor fans. The flying vehicle should also be able to perform unmanned operations.
