Northern Canada and the Arctic recorded temperatures up to 15 degrees Fahrenheit (up to 8.5 degrees Celsius) above average in March. The southeastern USA, along with much of Europe and central Asia, were cooler-than-average.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: green;\"><em>Although a large chunk of the USA didn&#8217;t get in on the warmth in March, the rest of the world sure did.<\/p>\n<p>March was the warmest March ever recorded worldwide, the <a  href=\"http:\/\/www.ncdc.noaa.gov\/sotc\/?report=global\">National Climatic Data Center<\/a> (NCDC) reported Thursday. NCDC records go back to 1880.<\/p>\n<p>Another source, the University of Alabama-Huntsville, also reported that March 2010 was the warmest March since their climate records began in 1979.<\/p>\n<p>According to the climate center, the combined global land and ocean average surface temperature in March was 56.3 degrees, which is 1.39 degrees above the 20th-century average of 54.9 degrees.
