The Navy has been using small microbial fuel cells to power sensors and now the goal is to develop a larger version that can power a watercraft. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Navy is working with researchers at the University of Massachusetts on a microbe called Geobacter, which is highly efficient in generating electricity.
