House Republicans are starting an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/darrell-issa-sec-goldman-records-2010-4\">investigation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The likelihood that Sen. Dodd&#8217;s proposed financial reform legislation is passed is increasing as Republican Sen. Shelby said a 85% of the bill was &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/preview.bloomberg.com\/news\/2010-04-20\/shelby-says-he-s-near-an-agreement-with-dodd-on-financial-rules-overhaul.html\">conceptually<\/a>&#8221; agreed upon, and that he believed the bill would be <a href=\"http:\/\/preview.bloomberg.com\/news\/2010-04-20\/shelby-says-he-s-near-an-agreement-with-dodd-on-financial-rules-overhaul.html\">bipartisan<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Deutsche Bank has ditched their lead CDO-smith in a move sure to raise eyebrows as the SEC continues to investigate banks involved in the shorting of subprime<\/strong>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/deutsche-bank-replaces-cdo-wunderkind-greg-lippmann-2010-4\">Greg Lippmann<\/a> was a market maker in subprime shorting. He now moves on to start a firm with another ex-Deutsche employee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Energy stocks boomed today, with ETFs in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/finance?q=NYSE:XES\">oil and gas exploration<\/a> showing significant gains<\/strong>. Oil prices also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSTRE6341EA20100420\">jumped<\/a> as a result of increasing confidence that the impact of the ash cloud halting European flight would soon diminish.
