{"id":536789,"date":"2010-04-21T10:12:50","date_gmt":"2010-04-21T14:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com\/?p=17012"},"modified":"2010-04-21T10:12:50","modified_gmt":"2010-04-21T14:12:50","slug":"europe-%e2%80%9cflies%e2%80%9d-back-to-normal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/536789","title":{"rendered":"Europe \u201cFlies\u201d Back to Normal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AMSTERDAM\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Operations at the important European air hub of Schiphol in Holland were getting back to normal Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The instances of long lines and mass confusion in the past few days here have eased as concerns regarding the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud diminish and flights pick up.<\/p>\n<p>Officials for Eurocontrol, the body that regulates air travel in Europe, is reporting air traffic is now at 75% of regular levels.<\/p>\n<p>That has still left some travelers out in the cold.\u00a0 Flights to places like London, Glasgow, Munich and Stockholm, scheduled to leave from Amsterdam, are showing as cancelled or delayed on the \u201cdepartures board\u201d here.<\/p>\n<p>Air travelers coming from other airports with connections to still \u201cquestionable\u201d final destinations were told they would have to end their trip in Amsterdam and wait before trying to move onwards.<\/p>\n<p>A Fox News team traveling from Dubai was on one of the first planes to operate out of an airport hit by the recent closures. The Dutch-based KLM plane flew from Amsterdam to the Mideast overnight Monday.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The crew then \u201cturned around\u201d and flew back to Amsterdam early Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The flight attendants seemed to take the disruption in their stride, telling us their \u201cdown days\u201d happened to coincide with the flight bans and so they were ready to get back to work.<\/p>\n<p>As for the passengers on board on board the flight, with many travelers having to wait days before they&#8217;re accommodated, they were happy to be flying as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AMSTERDAM\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Operations at the important European air hub of Schiphol in Holland were getting back to normal Wednesday.
