Wesman, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/\">Visual and Environmental Studies<\/a> (VES) concentrator, is one of 13 filmmakers chosen from 1,600 entries submitted by film schools worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Judge <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Atom_Egoyan\">Atom Egoyan<\/a> will choose the best three films; the results will be announced on May 21.<\/p>\n<p>But for an early viewing, \u201cShelley\u201d will be shown next week at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/ccva.html\">Carpenter Center<\/a> as part of the annual thesis and senior project film, video, and animation screenings. \u201cShelley\u201d chronicles a 14-year-old who impulsively commits a horrific crime. When she and her boyfriend try to fathom what has occurred, she withdraws from reality.<\/p>\n<p>Wesman and senior VES peers Dan Ashwood, <a href=\"http:\/\/news.harvard.edu\/gazette\/story\/2010\/04\/story\/2010\/02\/the-future-is-now\/\">Alex Berman<\/a>, Rachel Brown, Vince Eckert, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/vesThesis_screenings.html#erlinger\">Lily Erlinger<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/vesThesis_screenings.html#fang\">Lily Fang<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/vesThesis_screenings.html#jampol\">Olivia Jampol<\/a>, Ivan Ivanov, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/vesThesis_screenings.html#lemberg\">Sam Lemberg<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/vesThesis_screenings.html#noetzel\">Eliora Noetzel<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/vesThesis_screenings.html#rojer\">Rebecca Rojer<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/vesThesis_screenings.html#whang\">Paul Whang<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ves.fas.harvard.edu\/vesThesis_screenings.html#zimbler\">Alex Zimbler<\/a> will all screen their works April 28 to May 1 at 7 p.m. at the Carpenter Center. The works include a graphic novel, photographs, paintings, mixed media, video with installations, and a curatorial project.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibition is free and open to the public, as are the film screenings associated with it.
