In the F-150, the EcoBoost is expected to deliver best-in-class fuel economy along with the power and towing capability of a V8.<\/p>\n<p>EcoBoost technology combines direct fuel injection, variable cam timing and turbocharging to reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and cut vehicle weight, while giving drivers the performance of a bigger engine.<\/p>\n<p>While Ford is rolling out the first generation of EcoBoost engines, researchers are studying ways to create smaller future EcoBoost engines, while preserving performance and raising fuel economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are trying to get in front of the pack in leveraging EcoBoost for fuel economy,\u201d Kapp said. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a trend in the industry, and we can\u2019t rest on our laurels for one minute. <\/p>\n<p>We are going to keep wringing more efficiency out of EcoBoost.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>EcoBoost is a key technology that will enable Ford not only to fulfill the company\u2019s goal to be among the leaders in fuel economy in every segment, but also to meet the federal government\u2019s new 35.5 mpg fuel economy standard, which takes effect in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefordstory.com\/smart-technology\/more-ecoboost%e2%84%a2-engines-will-drive-the-future-for-ford\/\" >Read more<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img width='1' height='1' src='https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/2984554616620976925-4506765857890086513?l=speedmarket.blogspot.com' alt='' \/><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More EcoBoost\u2122 Engines Will Drive the Future for Ford The Ford EcoBoost\u2122 engines will power as much as 90 percent of the company\u2019s North American nameplates by 2013.EcoBoost is available now in the Ford Flex and Taurus, and Lincoln MKS and MKT.
