The licorice-black <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caranddriver.com\/news\/car\/10q2\/bmw_concept_gran_coupe-auto_shows\">Gran Coup\u00e9 concept<\/a> shown in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caranddriver.com\/news\/shows\/2010_beijing_auto_show\">Beijing<\/a> at a private reveal for journalists \u201cwill be built\u201d according to BMW head of design, Adrian von Hooydonk, \u201cthough we don\u2019t know yet what to call it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-19906\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>With the numbers 5, 6, and 7 taken, its possible BMW will revive the long-dead 8-series moniker last used in the 1990s on its wedge-shaped super coupe. (We\u2019ve also read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e90post.com\/forums\/showthread.php?t=378322\">internet chatter<\/a> that it could join the 6-series lineup as a range-topper, possibly with a convertible variant.)
