{"id":542827,"date":"2010-04-25T15:30:29","date_gmt":"2010-04-25T19:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com\/?p=17311"},"modified":"2010-04-25T15:30:29","modified_gmt":"2010-04-25T19:30:29","slug":"phoenix-mayor-law-%e2%80%9ctramples-civil-rights%e2%80%9d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/542827","title":{"rendered":"Phoenix Mayor: Law \u201ctramples civil rights\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon (D) is vehemently opposed to Arizona\u2019s new immigration law.\u00a0 Sunday on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/americasnewshq\">Fox News<\/a>, Gordon railed against the legislation, labeled it unconstitutional and described it as \u201ctrampling civil rights.\u201d\u00a0 The law\u2019s new identification process will require suspected illegals to produce legitimate forms of identification when questioned about their status by law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor described the process as unfair because \u201cthose that don\u2019t have an Arizona driver\u2019s license, children under 16, seniors that don\u2019t drive and people coming from out of state\u201d aren\u2019t able to comply with the law and are therefore \u201cat risk of being arrested and turned over to I.C.E.
