Additions of oil-focused rigs have accounted for 53% of the increase and now make up 35% of the total.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis trend is expected to persist for the balance of 2010 given the expectation for continued weakness in gas prices and strong economics in oil-prone basins,\u201d analysts at UBS said in research note.<\/p>\n<p>While they ar cautious that the gas rig count may soon recede from its highs, oil drilling is expected to pick up most of the slach.
