The E! Network’s First Lady of Late-Night says she hope to eventually “branch out” from the cable hub.<\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n “I’d been approached to go to a network a while ago, and I thought it was a little premature,”<\/em> says spitfire comedienne Chelsea Handler, host of E!’s Chelsea Lately.<\/p>\n At 35, Handler’s already penned three best-selling books and hopes to one day front a show that’s a little less irreverent than the one that made her a star.<\/p>\n <\/em>“There’s only so much you can talk about celebrities only. Obviously I’m going to want to branch out at some point,”<\/em> she laughs.<\/p>\n “I’d like to talk more about politics, books,”<\/em> she says. “I’d like to have a more well-rounded show at some point. I’ll probably be headed to do something like that, unless they make me some ridiculous offer I can’t turn down which would involve me doing a book club every week,” <\/em> Handler cracked.<\/p>\n Handler’s contract with E! expires in 2012.<\/p>\n The E!
