{"id":544889,"date":"2010-04-27T11:42:17","date_gmt":"2010-04-27T15:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/climaterealists.com\/index.php?id=5621"},"modified":"2010-04-27T11:42:17","modified_gmt":"2010-04-27T15:42:17","slug":"kiwigate-is-a-carbon-copy-of-climategate-by-john-osullivan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/544889","title":{"rendered":"Kiwigate is a Carbon Copy of Climategate by John O&#8217;Sullivan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Article Tags: <a href=\"http:\/\/climaterealists.com\/index.php?tid=470\" title=\"click to view more articles tagged &quot;John O&#039;Sullivan&quot;\">John O&#039;Sullivan<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/climaterealists.com\/index.php?tid=507\" title=\"click to view more articles tagged &quot;NZ Climate Scandal&quot;\">NZ Climate Scandal<\/a><\/p>\n<p>  <em><strong>New Zealand climate scientists embroil themselves in as much of a climate data fraud scandal as Climategate and with eerily similar methods and results. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The New Zealand Climate Science Coalition (NZCSC) in its article \u2018NIWA Challenged to Show Why and How Temperature Records Were Adjusted\u2019 (February 7, 2010) provides its readers with an insight into the climate scandal dubbed &#8216;Kiwigate.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>NIWA is New Zealand\u2019s National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research and is accused of repeatedly frustrating NZCSC in its attempts to get government climatologists to explain how they managed to create a warming trend for their nation\u2019s climate that is not borne out by the actual temperature record.<\/p>\n<p>According to NZCSC, climate boffins cooked the books by using the same alleged \u2018trick\u2019 employed by British and American doomsaying scientists. This involves subtly imposing a warming bias during what is known as the \u2018homogenisation\u2019 process that occurs when climate data needs to be adjusted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homogenisation Explained<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When such data adjustments (homogenisations) are made, scientists must keep their working calculations so that other scientists can test the reasonableness of those adjustments.
