John Kerry (D-Mass.) said late Monday that efforts to craft sweeping, comprehensive legislation to combat climate change were still &#8220;very much alive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re still pushing, we&#8217;re still talking, we&#8217;re still fighting, it&#8217;s very much alive&#8212;and I won&#8217;t quit,&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2010\/04\/26\/climate_bill_still_moving_forward\/index.php\">Kerry said in a post<\/a> on Talking Points Memo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>His comments came after Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), who had been working on the bill with Kerry and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), <a href=\"http:\/\/feeds.grist.org\/article\/2010-04-24-graham-says-hes-going-to-bail-on-the-climate-bill\/\">backed away from it<\/a> in protest over a decision by Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to move first on an immigration bill.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s practically a rite of passage.
