Greece&#8217;s CDS is now the most expensive in the world, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/credit-default-swap-spreads-blowing-out-in-greece-portugal-and-poland-2010-4\">at 945 bps<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Greek crisis is having an impact across the European Union, with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/greece-and-portugal-are-both-screwed-but-for-far-different-reasons-2010-4\">Portugal<\/a> and Poland both showing signs of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/credit-default-swap-spreads-blowing-out-in-greece-portugal-and-poland-2010-4\">CDS stress<\/a> this morning<\/strong>. The euro is also under pressure, approaching the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/euro-crashing-towards-130-as-greece-yields-wont-stop-exploding-2010-4\">$1.30 EUR\/USD value<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The IMF is considering <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052748704423504575211411771441050.html?mod=rss_whats_news_us\">increasing its portion or the size of the bailout<\/a> for Greece as euro zone members, like Germany, continue to have doubts over the bailout<\/strong>. The president of the European Council tried to reassure markets that the bailout would occur, but said it was likely to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/0\/a7a9c604-5297-11df-a192-00144feab49a.html\">delayed until next month<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Concerns are rising that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/finance\/financetopics\/financialcrisis\/7644204\/Britain-risks-Greek-style-crisis-warns-Vince-Cable.html\">Britain may too experience a similar situation to Greece<\/a>, this according to the Liberal Democrats&#8217; finance spokesman<\/strong>. With the election 8 days away, the country&#8217;s third party Liberal Democrats <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/apps\/news?pid=20601087&amp;sid=amV06sOzJCRE&amp;pos=8\">continue to gain<\/a> on the Conservatives and Labour, increasing the likelihood of a hung parliament. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thai protests in the capital of Bangkok have turned violent today, with reported deaths and injuries<\/strong>. A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/news\/blog\/2010\/apr\/28\/thailand-protest\">soldier was killed<\/a> in a friendly fire incident, as riot police and troops began to fire on the protesters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Shell has seen its profits grow by<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/0\/111326d0-5298-11df-a192-00144feab49a.html?ftcamp=rss\"> 60% in Q1 2010<\/a> as a result of higher oil prices<\/strong>. The firm beat estimates for a 30% profit growth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Honda has returned to profit because of strong growth in the Asian markets of Japan and China, as well as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/0\/111326d0-5298-11df-a192-00144feab49a.html?ftcamp=rss\">cost cutting measures<\/a><\/strong>. The company is expecting an 8.9% growth in sales for 2010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The oil slick still growing in the Gulf of Mexico is forcing officials into action as they try to prevent the spill from reaching shore<\/strong>. <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052748704471204575209843425073402.html?mod=WSJ_hpp_MIDDLENexttoWhatsNewsForth\">Setting the slick on fire<\/a>, to burn off the fuel, is now being considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The SEC is now investigating hedge funds for a potential illegal use of a strategy known as &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/id\/36819805\">side pockets<\/a>&#8221; where managers could prevent clients from removing funds during times of stress, like the 2008 financial crisis<\/strong>. This is one of the first moves by the SEC&#8217;s new division focused on the asset management community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Progress of the financial reform bill through the Senate has stalled as Democratic Sen. Nelson of Nebraska has remained loyal to a key constituent, <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052748704471204575210043815150892.html?mod=WSJ_hpp_LEFTWhatsNewsCollection\">Warren Buffett<\/a>, and voted against the progress of the bill<\/strong>. The bill still needs two further votes besides Sen.
