The video\u2019s, shown during Commissioner Tajani\u2019s press conference\u00a0(April 28, 2010) \u00a0of hydrogen cars, \u00a0filling up at public hydrogen refuelling stations in Berlin and driving through the center of Brussels, demonstrate that the European hydrogen and fuel cell sector, has achieved major technological breakthroughs over the last years to introduce hydrogen as the other energy carrier, next to electricity, to accelerate EU\u2019s decarbonisation objectives for transport. Many European companies, including SME\u2019s, are market \u00a0leader in developing fuel cell and hydrogen applications and components as demonstrated at last week\u2019s Hanover Fair, \u00a0where the EHA joined over 140 companies gathered in the 16<sup>th<\/sup> H2 anf FC Group Exhibit .\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\nThe EHA especially welcomes the Commission\u2019s intention \u201cto provide a leading role in working with Member States at national and regional level on the build-up of charging and refuelling infrastructure in the EU\u201d.<br \/>\nAs indicated in its position paper on this strategy<sup> <\/sup>(for download at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.h2euro.org\/\">www.h2euro.org<\/a> ), the EHA is fully committed to contribute actively to the assessment to be made \u201cwhether synergies exist between capacity build up for electric and hydrogen vehicles and their connection to low-carbon electricity sources\u201d as mentioned in the Action list of the Communciation.
