\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The irony is Ahmadinejad wants to attend the Non-Proliferation Treaty review conference hosted by the United Nations, when the U.S. is discussing with members of the Security Council another round of sanctions for Tehran\u2019s nuclear program.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Department spokesman PJ Crowley says the applications were filed this morning, and it is expected the visas will be granted.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cYou know, any foreign official who\u2019s coming to the U.N. for official business is normally granted a visa,\u201d Crowley told reporters.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cOur focus is, should he come, we want to see him play a constructive role in the upcoming NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty)\u2026 review conference,\u201d said Crowley.<\/p>\n
