I&#8217;ve predicted that <a href=\"http:\/\/notes.kateva.org\/2010\/03\/apples-next-surprise-facebook.html\">Apple will turn on Facebook<\/a> (their friend today, but so was Google, once). I&#8217;ve noted that <a href=\"http:\/\/notes.kateva.org\/2009\/12\/tech-churn-os-x-server-mobileme-and.html\">MobileMe more closely resembles OS X server than it does Google Apps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Now, for my next prediction [1] &#8211; related to all of the above.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Within a year Apple will make MobileMe an iPhone back-end peripheral. When they do that iPhone users will not need a local copy of iTunes (PC or Mac), and they won&#8217;t need an ISP. After that Apple will make MobileMe into a Facebook competitor.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Next year&#8217;s iPad will come with a starter MobileMe subscription.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>[1] I&#8217;m a dreadful prognosticator, but it doesn&#8217;t stop me.
