The BlackBerry is the best communications device I’ve ever used, and while the Android and iPhone platforms might be “cooler,” it doesn’t mean that they do what the BlackBerry does. So I now think that, despite OS 6.0 not being much of a huge upgrade, that RIM has its ducks in a row. <\/p>\n We also saw another controversial BlackBerry, the 9670 flip model with a full, Storm-sized screen. We’ve seen much criticism of this device, but at the risk of sounding like a fanboy I think RIM has done a good job with this one. It’s not a device that appeals to everyone, clearly, but RIM has never really been in that business. <\/a>Previously, I said that I’d be disappointed if OS 6.0 was just another evolutionary step from OS 5.0. After all, software is said to be RIM’s weak point, and if the company can get itself up to date with its operating system then better software might follow.
