Acura has announced a recall that will affect 167,000 TSX models built between 2004 and 2008. The problem is found on models equipped with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine – which was the only available engine in the U.S.<\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n Honda has announced that is luxury division, Acura, will be recalling 167,000 TSX models that have the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, over a power steering hose that has potential to prematurely deteriorate.<\/p>\n Acura says that the hose can fail due to its prolonged exposure to high under-hood temperatures, which can in turn cause the hose to develop a crack. Acura says that if <\/span> the hose cracks it could cause the power steering fluid to spray into the engine bay, and potentially onto the hot exhaust system – which could create smoke or a fire.<\/p>\n Acura says it has only confirmed one fire as a result of the failure.<\/p>\n The automaker will begin mailing recall notices at the end of May, 2010.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
