These new D-pins have been well received in food, beverage, and other industries, and are now used by more than 70% of plastic top chain users in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>Many of our customers reported similar problems with conventional stainless steel knurled pins: cracks developing in the hinges due to excessive residual stress, hinge damage by inadvertently removing the pin from the wrong direction, and pin rotation due to flexural resistance, which then causes the pin to fall out.<\/p>\n<p>Tsubaki responded by developing an innovative D-pin. One side of the D-shaped connecting pin is flat, with two protrusions. These protrusions hold the hinges in their proper place, while the D-shape the D-pin prevents pin rotation and dislodgement during operation.
