The studio&#8217;s 1950 animated classic <em>Cinderella<\/em> is on its way back to the silver after Disney bosses plopped down seven figures for a new screenplay based on the classic tale of a beautiful peasant who wins the heart of a prince with the help of her fairy godmother. <span id=\"more-105235\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A live-action version of <em>Cinderella<\/em>, starring Brandy, Bernadette Peters, and Whoopi Goldberg, was adapted into a two-hour TV movie in 1998. In recent years, Hollywood has borrowed elements of the folk tale for box office efforts like Drew Barrymore&#8217;s <em>Ever After<\/em> and <em>A Cinderella Story<\/em>, featuring Hilary Duff.
