The treasure trove of government records, now up to date and posted on our website in its entirety, is the result of almost 200 FOIA requests and over a dozen lawsuits.  <\/p>\n<p>The document collection now includes for the first time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>documents detailing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/foia\/fcc-warrantless-searches\">Federal Communications Commission&#8217;s claimed authority<\/a> to conduct warrantless searches of private residences;\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/fn\/directory\/3593\/393\">tens of thousands of pages<\/a> of records describing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/issues\/foia\/07656JDB\">FBI&#8217;s misuse of its authority<\/a> to issue National Security Letters;\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/foia\/foia-dhs-traveler-redress-inquiry-program-trip\">a summary of complaints<\/a> to the Department of Homeland Security&#8217;s Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (TRIP);\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/foia\/comprehensive-national-cybersecurity-initiative\">a description of the Department of Homeland Security&#8217;s role<\/a> in the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative;\n<li>a set of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/foia\/foia-digitization-agreements\">government contracts<\/a> with Google and other technology firms for the digitization of government files;\n<li>documents related to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/foia\/foia-skype-surveillance\">FBI&#8217;s capacity to conduct surveillance on Skype<\/a>, the internet telephony protocol; and\n<li>copies of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/foia\/foia-smart-dust\">the National Science Foundation&#8217;s grant awards<\/a> for wireless microelectromechanical sensor technology, so-called &#8220;smart dust.&#8221;\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of these documents, along with the rest of EFF&#8217;s FOIA repository, can be accessed directly or searched using EFF&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eff.org\/issues\/foia\/search\">FOIA document search tool<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has added thousands of never-before-seen records to its online collection of documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
