{"id":569387,"date":"2010-05-18T14:37:46","date_gmt":"2010-05-18T18:37:46","guid":{"rendered":"9589 at http:\/\/www.androidcentral.com"},"modified":"2010-05-18T14:37:46","modified_gmt":"2010-05-18T18:37:46","slug":"gm-announces-onstar-google-partnership-will-show-more-at-google-io","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/569387","title":{"rendered":"GM announces OnStar-Google partnership, will show more at Google IO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rtecenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/sites\/androidcentral.com\/files\/articleimage\/684\/2010\/05\/OnStarMobileApp2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"390\" alt=\"Chevy Volt Android Application\" class=\"lightbox2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/sites\/androidcentral.com\/files\/articleimage\/684\/2010\/05\/thumb_550_OnStarMobileApp2.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>General Motors this morning announced it is adding even more Android to the upcoming Chevy Volt &#8212; and we&#8217;ll check it all out this week at <a href=\"http:\/\/androidcentral.com\/tags\/google-io\">Google IO<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/hands-onstars-chevy-volt-app-motorola-android\">already seen the Chevy Volt app for Android<\/a> when it debuted at CES in January, and it&#8217;ll be upgrated later this year to add Google Maps features, including voice search and Google Maps Navigation, wich we&#8217;ve enjoyed on Android 2.0 and up for a while now.<\/p>\n<p>What we&#8217;re really itching to see is what OnStar has up its sleeve in regards to Android.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;While OnStar will never lose sight of our core focus on safety and security, this relationship is an example of how we&rsquo;re evolving our leadership position in connected vehicle technology,&rdquo; Chris Preuss, OnStar president, said in a news release. &ldquo;What we&rsquo;re talking about today is only the beginning.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Indeed.
