We have a bit more indication that this is the case, as well as news that points to a launch of the next version after that, Gingerbread, later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the indications (e.g.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2010\/05\/13\/froyo-arrives-googleplex\/\" >here<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2010\/04\/28\/androidrelated-sessions-google-io-listed-tba\/\" >here<\/a><\/strong>) that we&#8217;ll hear a lot more about Froyo today is the fact that pieces of new code are being dropped into the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/source.android.com\/\" >Android Open Source Project<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">, a fact <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/cyanogen\/status\/14334398710\" >noticed by Cyanogen<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/morrildl\/status\/14330392391\" >not-quite-confirmed by Google&#8217;s Dan Morrill<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">As to the timing of Gingerbread&#8217;s release, <span id=\"more-15437\"><\/span>the folks at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurodroid.com\/2010\/05\/android-3-0-gingerbread-coming-in-q4-2010-says-webm-media-team\/\" >EuroDroid<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> found a clue in the documentation of WebM, the open media format Google announced yesterday.
