The event, moderated by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wri.org\/profile\/jonathan-lash\">Jonathan Lash<\/a>, president of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wri.org\">World Resources Institute<\/a> (WRI), will launch the Forest Legality Alliance (FLA), a global initiative to help companies remove illegal wood from their supply chains and reduce reputational risks. Panelists will also discuss new laws to combat illegal logging, including the amended U.S. Lacey Act.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is spearheaded by WRI, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eia-global.org\/\">Environmental Investigation Agency<\/a> (EIA) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usaid.gov\/\">U.S. Agency for International Development<\/a> (USAID). The founding alliance members are the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.afandpa.org\/\">American Forest &amp; Paper Association<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hardwoodfederation.net\/main\/\">Hardwood Federation<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ikea.com\/\">IKEA<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iwpawood.org\/\">International Wood Products Association<\/a> (IWPA), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newpagecorp.com\/wps\/portal\">NewPage Corporation<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rila.org\/pages\/default.aspx\">Retail Industry Leaders\u2019 Association<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.staples.com\/\">Staples Inc.<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wbcsd.org\/templates\/TemplateWBCSD5\/layout.asp?MenuID=1\">World Business Council for Sustainable Development<\/a>.
