So if patience is one of your major virtues you should feel free to hold out for that update notification to hit; if on the other hand you would rather just go ahead and get your Froyo on now just follow the directions below.<\/p>\n<p>Note that this has only been reported as working for T-Mobile users so far and if you are currently rooted you should get yourself back to stock before running the update.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To manually install Android 2.2 on the Nexus One,  perform  the following steps<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download the official Android 2.2 firmware for the Nexus One <a href=\"http:\/\/android.clients.google.com\/packages\/passion\/signed-passion-FRF50-from-ERE27.1e519a24.zip\" >here<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/android.clients.google.com\/packages\/desirec\/OTA_Desire_C_Verizon_WWE_2.36.605.1_1.17.605.1_release_0420.79112f65.zip\"><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the file to your microSD card and name it update.zip (<em>newb   warning: not update.zip.zip<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Power off your phone.<\/li>\n<li>Hold down the VOLUME DOWN button and power it  back on.<\/li>\n<li>The phone will now search for files like PB00IMG.zip, etc. This is  normal. Scroll down to recovery and press the POWER button.<\/li>\n<li>When you see the \u201c\/!\\\u201d symbol, press the POWER button and the Volume Up  button at the same time. You should be presented with a menu and one of  the options should be \u201cApply  sdcard:update.zip\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Use the trackball to navigate to \u201capply sdcard:update.zip\u201d and  select  it.<\/li>\n<li>When you see \u201cInstall from sdcard complete\u201d, select \u201creboot system   now\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Enjoy and once you&#8217;ve had a chance to play for awhile let us know what you think.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apparently at some point last night a very select few Nexus One owners started getting the Android 2.2 update OTA.
