A few days ago Goggle officially announced Android 2.2<\/a> at Google I\/O 2010 developers conference. There are reports of a few Nexus One<\/a> owners receiving the automated update alert, however rollout is at a snails pace. If you’re impatient and want Froyo now follow the steps below to manually update Nexus One to Android 2.2<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  1. Download the Android 2.2 firmware for the Nexus One \u2013 here is the link to download<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Rename the file update.zip and copy it to your microSD card via the file is named update.zip and not update.zip.zip.] <\/li>\n
  3. Power down your Nexus One <\/li>\n
  4. Hold down the \u201cVolume Down\u201d button as you power the phone back on. <\/li>\n
  5. A screen should appear showing your phone\u2019s system searching for various files. Scrol down to \u201crecovery\u201d and press the \u201cPower\u201d button<\/li>\n
  6. When you see the triangle with an exclamation point symbol, press the \u201cPower\u201d and \u201cVolume Up\u201d buttons at the same time.<\/li>\n
  7. From the menu that appears, select \u201cApply sdcard:update.zip.\u201d<\/li>\n
  8. When the screen displays \u201cInstall from sdcard complete\u201d select \u201creboot system now\u201d and wait for the phone to power back up.<\/li>\n

    I’m updating and will give results with video. Make a fast phone even faster plus ability to install apps to SD Card… incentive enough!<\/p>\n
