The convention is not,&#8221;&nbsp;Brinson told the Courant&#8217;s Jenna Carlesso.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Brinson ultimately lost the convention endorsement to Jerry Farrell Jr., the state&#8217;s consumer protection commissioner.<\/p>\n<p>However, he&nbsp;garnered nearly 40 percent of the votes, more than enough to force a primary. Brinson, a lawyer from Bloomfield,&nbsp;said he would decide Monday whether he will wage a primary.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Asked about whether he was standing in the way of that change in the Republican Party,&nbsp;Farrell replied: &#8220;I don&#8217;t think any of us are minorities. We&#8217;re all Americans. We all have something to offer.&#8221;<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>&#8220;I am who I am.
