Former American Idol<\/em> pundit Paula Abdul is returning to the judges’ table — this time as part of a new primetime dance competition series on CBS.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n The noted choreographer and former professional cheerleader will be lead judge, executive producer, creative partner, mentor, and coach on Got to Dance<\/em>, a performance series based on the hit UK talent show of the same name, The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> said Monday.<\/p>\n CBS suits are expected to announced the move this week.<\/p>\n The show — picked up by CBS in March — is billed as broadcast’s first all-ages, all-genres dance series — “from ballroom to break dance, bhangra to ballet, and tap to tango.”<\/em> Dance acts will compete for a panel of judges, with viewers getting to vote for their favorites during the semi-finals and finals.<\/p>\n The gig is the singer’s first major role since leaving the panel of American Idol<\/em> in the middle of a salary dispute with FOX.
