Want to unlock your AT&T phone to use on another carrier or overseas? As of today, you finally have that opportunity. Boy Genius Report<\/em> has said that as part of a class action lawsuit, AT&T has agreed to unlock your device as long as you fit into their criteria. Pre-paid customers must provide a proof-of-purchase for the device and post-paid customers must have an account with at least 90 days of “active service” and be in good standing with the carrier. There is one other catch: You won’t be able to unlock the BlackBerry Bold 9000 or the iPhone. AT&T says that they will not unlock a device that they have an exclusivity period of 10 months or more on, which means that owners of two of their biggest phones are out of luck. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering that they don’t want people buying iPhones and then bolting for another carrier, but it must be good news for some of you AT&T subscribers out there.
